FREEDOM FOR TOOTING!!!!
Venue 295, La Sweet Cantina, Teviot Place, Edinburgh
August 15th –24th 2008
Devised and performed by the UK underground’s folk-punk and hip-hopping legend Cosmo, (aka Sandor Dus), it combines comedy, tragedy, DIY politics and some of the worst human beatboxing you’ll ever hear.
Stop off points on the journey include: singing songs about the joys of ketamine abuse on Children in Need in front of the cast of EastEnders, getting arrested TWICE for attempting to leave the anti-G8 protests in Edinburgh and being harassed by the Brazilian army whilst busking under the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. In a helicopter.
Cosmo has released four albums, toured globally and won the Golden Comb Award at the Hay Fringe Festival in 2007. His songs and stories reveal a maverick take on life that puts the rock and roll into politics…………….and the politics into rock and roll.
He does bite….but only if you ask him nicely.
Cosmo does not need to think too hard when he writes a song because he is a soul searching philosopher that is constantly thinking about the meaning of life, questioning why life is the way it is, occasionally getting angry about it, wondering what can be done to put it right, and trying to work out whose round it is
